Mother’s Day for the Mom to Be
If you know someone who is a mom to be for the first time, remember that she should be acknowledged on Mother’s Day, too! Whether she’s your wife, your sister, your cousin, or your friend, you can get her the perfect gift to celebrate her first Mother’s Day.
One idea for a gift can be something that goes along with what she’s really looking forward to sharing with her child. This could be any number of things, such as reading stories, playing music, sewing, or scrapbooking. Here are some ideas of gifts for her to enjoy as a new mom:
Storybooks: If she’s looking forward to reading to her child, both while she’s pregnant and after the child is born, some children’s books, fables and bedtime story books would make the perfect gift. This could be the start of the child’s first book collection.
Music: If she likes to have music playing for the baby to hear, and will have music playing a lot in the baby’s room, get her some cds of the types of music that she likes to play for the child, whether classical, children’s songs, etc.
Sewing: If she has already started to sew, knit, or crochet clothes, blankets, and the like for her child, give her a gift of sewing materials of all different colors and fabrics. A sewing basket also makes a great gift, and leaves room for smaller gifts to fit inside.
Scrapbooking: If she will be making a scrapbook of her pregnancy and the first few years of her little one, a great gift would be scrapbooking supplies. Colored paper, tape, ribbons, stickers, picture holders and more will give her the tools to capture more moments of these precious times.
If she hasn’t given any thought yet to sharing any of these things with her child, she just may love the idea. These types of gifts can give her a new hobby to share with her child that she may not have thought of before.
Gifts for a new mom and her child aren’t just to be given on her baby shower. If she’s a mom to be with her first child, then this is her first Mother’s Day, which makes it one she’ll never forget.
